The 4-Channel Compressor/De-esser shall provide four channels of audio gain compression/limiting and dynamic shelf de-essing which can be used independently or as two stereo pairs.
Each channel shall have variable Threshold level adjustment and LED column display of side-chain level below the threshold point. Each channel shall have variable Ratio adjustment to set the amount of gain reduction proportional to the amount by which the signal level exceeds threshold.
The Ratio control shall exhibit a progressive-knee side-chain control characteristic which varies gradually from soft-knee at low settings to hard-knee at high settings. Gain reduction shall be indicated on an LED column display calibrated in dB’s. Each channel shall have automatic, program dependant Attack and Release time constants, each switchable independently between FAST- and NORMAL auto modes. Each channel shall have a Gain trim control variable between +/-20dB, with an output clip level indicator.
Additionally, each channel shall have a dynamic frequency selective HF shelf De-esser with variable Frequency and Threshold controls plus a two-point LED display to show de-essing activity.
The compressor/de-esser shall be capable of operating at full line level up to +20dBv, with a frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz +/-1dB. Output noise shall be less than -86dBv CCIR468-2, and harmonic distortion shall be less than 0.05%. The unit shall be capable of operating from a mains supply of 96-132V or 192-260V AC 50/60Hz. The unit shall be standard 19″ rackmount 1U (1ž ») high.
